Every day, it is estimated 100,000 litres of milk are wasted in Rwanda. With this in mind, Kumva has developed a liquid storage monitoring kit that could be deployed across the 97 Milk Collection Centers that collect and store milk from smallholder farmers around the country monitoring conditions and alerting stakeholders when best to collect milk for processing.

Using Kumva sensor systems could inform milk processing plants when Milk Collection Centres are getting too full, as well as when their distribution ‘Milkzones’ are running low, increasing the efficiency of the dairy value chain meaning that companies can buy / sell more milk, and farmers lower waste / increase income.
